The photos below reflect Aurora Reyes' work with Partner Sites at Uptown Dance Academy in East Harlem and Once Upon A Time in Richmond Hills, Queens. These classes have explored the historical relationship between the flamenco art form and influences from Latino cultures known as
la ida y vuelta (“round trip”) forms.
Recitals are planned in conjunction with parents who want to get involved. Aurora encourages the most talented students to take part other performing opportunities, such as the Feria in the spring and outdoor park performances. Tatiana Green (pictured below), was a student of Aurora Reyes at Partner Site Uptown Dance Academy from 1999-2006. Tatiana went on to get a degree at Adelphi University, and later taught for Flamenco Latino at other Partner Sites, as well as performed with the professional company.
